Child of Light

Child of Light is an early, classic Chinese fantasy novel by Tang Jia San Shao. It tells the story of Zhang Gong, a seemingly lazy and unmotivated young man from a world where magic is practiced. Unlike the overwhelming majority of mages who focus on the more powerful and offensive elements, Zhang Gong makes the unusual and often ridiculed decision to devote himself entirely to Light Magic. Light Magic is dismissed as largely defensive and weak, making it unpopular.

Despite the scorn and low expectations, Zhang Gong possesses an innate talent and a mysterious past that allows him to advance at an astonishing rate. As his power grows, he transcends the limits previously believed to exist for Light Magic, developing devastating abilities and eventually becoming the legendary Grand Magister.

The main plot involves Zhang Gong's journey across a continent sharply divided by racial and political borders. Driven by a desire for unity and peace, he uses his overwhelming light-elemental power and his kind, forgiving nature to try and end the separation between the continent's Eastern and Western races. In doing so, he earns the respect and adoration of all races, eventually becoming known as the "Child of Light" for his role as a savior and unifier.

Produced with high-fidelity voice acting and atmospheric audio design, Child of Light delivers an engaging theater-of-the-mind listening journey. We recommend listening with quality headphones to experience full stereo spatial immersion.
