1 Who I Am

Kahani Suno is operated by Amit Kumar Giri — an individual, not a registered company. I run this platform personally from India. There is no legal entity, no headquarters, no office. Just me, my servers, and a genuine interest in building a good Hindi audio platform.

I also run cybersecmastery.in, a separate educational project. That site is completely independent of Kahanisuno — different domain, different content, different purpose. Your data on Kahanisuno is never shared with or linked to CyberSec Mastery.

2 What I Collect

I try to collect as little as necessary. Here's what actually gets stored:

When you create an account:

• Your name and email address
• A password (stored as a secure hash — I cannot read your actual password)
• Optional: a profile picture if you set one

When you use the platform:

• Which series and episodes you've listened to (for your listening history)
• Your bookmarks and saved series
• Playback position (so you can resume where you left off)

Automatically (standard web stuff):

• IP address and approximate location (country / city level) — used for basic analytics
• Browser type and device info — to fix compatibility bugs
• Pages you visit on the site

What I do NOT collect:

• Your precise GPS location
• Phone contacts or camera access
• Any advertising ID from the mobile app
• Anything I don't genuinely need to run the service

3 How I Use It

• To run the service: Show you your listening history, sync your bookmarks, keep you logged in.
• To fix problems: If the app crashes or a feature breaks, server logs help me diagnose what happened.
• To improve the platform: Seeing which series people listen to helps me understand what content works.
• To communicate with you: If you email me or submit a contact form, I'll reply to that. I won't add you to any mailing list without your explicit opt-in.

4 Who Sees Your Data

I don't sell your personal information. Full stop.

The only parties who might see parts of your data are:

• My hosting/server provider — the company that physically stores the data. Standard arrangement for any website.
• Google (AdSense) — they serve ads on the website. More on this in the next section.
• If legally required — if Indian law or a court order requires disclosure, I will comply. I'd inform you if possible.

That's genuinely it. No analytics companies, no third-party data brokers, no advertising profiles.

5 Google AdSense & Advertising

The website shows Google AdSense ads to support the running costs. This is important to be upfront about because Google uses cookies to show you relevant ads.

The Android app does not use any advertising SDKs. No ads, no tracking in the app beyond what's needed to play content.

6 Cookies

The website uses a small number of cookies:

• Session cookie: Keeps you logged in while you browse. Expires when you close your browser (or after a period of inactivity).
• Preference cookies: Remembers things like your volume setting and theme (dark/light) across visits.
• Google AdSense cookies: Set by Google for ad personalisation (see above). You can opt out.

You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings at any time. Blocking session cookies will log you out. Blocking AdSense cookies will still show ads, just less relevant ones.

7 How Long I Keep Your Data

• Active account data — kept as long as your account exists
• Listening history & bookmarks — kept until you delete them or close your account
• Server logs — typically auto-purged after 30–90 days
• Support emails — I keep these for reference, but you can ask me to delete them

When you delete your account, I remove your personal data from the live database. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before those rotate out naturally.

8 Your Rights

Regardless of where you're from, you can always:

• Access your data — email me and I'll tell you what I have stored about you
• Correct your data — update your name, email, or profile from your account settings
• Delete your account — use the account deletion page or email me
• Export your data — email me and I can send you a copy of your stored data
• Opt out of AdSense personalisation — via Google's own settings (linked above)

These rights apply to you regardless of whether you're in India, the EU, the US, or anywhere else. I respect your privacy as a basic principle, not as a compliance checkbox.

9 Children

Kahani Suno is intended for users aged 13 and above. I don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account on Kahanisuno, please email support@kahanisuno.fun and I'll delete it promptly.

10 Policy Updates

If I make significant changes to this policy, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where possible, notify registered users via email.

Minor clarifications and wording fixes won't get individual notifications, but the updated version will always be at kahanisuno.fun/privacy.

Continued use of the platform after a policy update means you've accepted the updated terms. If you don't agree with a change, the right move is to delete your account and stop using the service.
